About Us

Medical Audit Consultants (MAC) was founded by John Mott, CPC, LMSW in 1997 to provide medical auditing and training services to hospitals and physician clinics across the country. Later the Medical Coding Division was established to offer a full range of medical coding services. Medical Audit Consultants has grown to become a leader in medical auditing, training and coding. John Mott is President and CEO and Nancy Barry, CPC, is Vice President/General Manager. In addition to the management staff, there are full time and part time coding analysts/auditors. Management staff and all coding analysts/auditors are certified and maintain current credentials.

Our team has extensive training in compliance, auditing, and coding. We audit and code thousands of patient encounters every month. The integrity of every project is important to us. Every employee is certified with current credentials through either AAPC or AHIMA. We are experienced in coding, auditing and training general medicine, surgery, mental health, as well as all areas of specialty practice.

We specialize in working with VA Medical Centers across the country on as needed, one-time or continual basis. Another specialty area is mental health auditing for private practice and governmental agencies.
